"Paper Cutting" has been one of the most popular folk arts practiced in China for about 2000 years. Many Chinese housewives learned "Paper Cutting" from their grandmother or mother when they were very young. "Paper Cutting" is most often seen as window decorations during Chinese New Year, weddings or other important occasions.
It can be very simple or very complex, one color or multicolored. You can use your imagination and experience or work with templates. To start we recommend you use our "Rooster Template" to create a simple paper cut for the "Year of the Rooster".
Young children may find it hard to complete it so we suggest an adult and child work together. The adult cuts off the inside parts and the child cuts the outline. Please use care when working with scissors and children.
